Chesté is a municipality in the center of province of Valencia, located 26 km from the capital Valencia. It has a surface of 71.40 km² and an altitude average of 218 m above mean sea level. The "Hole of Buñol", or "Foia de Bunyol" is located within the denominated region.
History
According to Escolano, the first settlers of the region of Cheste had to be members of some tribes pertaining to the old Edetania. Thus they indicate the numerous deposits of diverse times, as the rest found in the hill of "the Castillarejo" (Ceramic Iberian and points of the spear of the Bronze Age). "Treasure of Cheste" is possible to emphasize the call, formed by a set of jewels and gold currencies and silver, found in the game of "the Safa" in 1864. Between the currencies it emphasizes a denario Sgdenham 140 (RRC 44,5 from 211 a.C.) employee to date the concealment, in the heat of second Punic war.
