Chief Performance Officer

A term popularized in 2003, in the book, [Chief Performance Officer], by Anthony L. Politano, to describe a corporate position which is responsible for gathering performance metrics for an organization. By combining roles that typically are assigned to the CFO and Chief Information Officer and concentrating on Key Performance Indicators, the Chief Performance Officer is often compared to a heads-up for the CEO.
