Chrishan (born Christopher Chrishan Dotson on October 21,1989 in Toledo, Ohio) is an American R&B singer-songwriter, producer, and actor.

Biography

Early life

Chrishan was born on the very same day of his father, Chris Dotson. He grew up surrounded by his incredible musical family which consists of the legendary soul vocal group, "The Dotsons", (lead singer) Chris Dotson Inc., Tim Dotson, Jay Dotson, and Chester "Lyfe Jennings" Dotson.

His dad's group disbanded in the late 1990s and Chrishan moved to Minnesota at the age of 8. His dad then founded Soulriver Records and signed a distribution deal through Warner Music Group.

Chrishan grew up inspired by his musical environment and eventually began singing at age 2, writing songs at age 4, and sampling beats off the radio at age 7. He now continues to write and produce music for others.

Present life

Chrishan is currently a thriving teenager who tries to stay grounded and down-to-earth. His talent isn't just in music, he plays football, baseball, and basketball.

The latter skill also runs in the family with his uncle, Chris Douglas-Roberts (CD ROB), one of the nation's top 20 high school players of 2005; now playing college ball for Memphis.

Chrishan's friends include producer Jay Wes & pop-singer JoJo.

Career

Music career

In 2005 Chrishan signed onto Soulriver Records. In that previous year Chrishan's cousin Chester "Lyfe Jennings" Dotson released his debut smash.

Chrishan is currently in the studio recording his debut album called "Curious." The album is set to be released in November including production by The Underdogs, Edwin "Tony" Nicholas, Glassroots and many more.

The single is scheduled to be released September 19th.

Acting career

Chrishan was recently chosen to play a lead role in the upcoming Soulriver-Gant Pictures movie, Make It Funky. He plays Andre, a character who sees an opportunity to leave "street life" through music.

Production career

As a producer Chrishan is getting ready to take the world by storm with production on big-name artists.

His production style is heavily influenced by Babyface and The Underdogs. His special studio equipment includes the drum sampling Roger Linn design MPC3000, the Yamaha Motif, and the Korg Trinity V3 Pro-X. He has never been classically trained yet he reads and writes sheet music and plays piano, guitar, violin, and many other instruments.
