Chrysalis is the name of an alien species in the computer game [[X-COM: Apocalypse]].

The name is to be taken literally. A Chrysalis is the penultimate stage of the alien life cycle that results in the advanced alien warriors. The Queen lays an Egg, which hatches into a Multiworm, which gives birth (violently) to four Hyperworms, each of which in turn eventually becomes a Chrysalis. After an incubation period, any of the more dangerous aliens emerge; Anthropods, Spitters, Skeletoids, etc.

A Chrysalis in itself is immobile.
