Chukyo Metropolitan Area

Chūkyō is the name of a major metropolitan area in Japan that is centered on the city of Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture. This area has a population (as of 2000) of 8,739,000 over an area of 6,380 square kilometers[link]. It is among the top 50 most populated metropolitan areas in the world. It is also Japan's third most populated metropolitan area after the Greater Tokyo Area and Osaka-Kobe-Kyoto, containing roughly 7% of Japan's population.
