Cirrus is an interbank network linking holders of MasterCard, Maestro, or Cirrus-branded credit, All Diners Club, debit, prepaid, and ATM cards to ATMs worldwide.
Cirrus allows MasterCard cardholders to access the extensive Cirrus/Maestro ATM network. Maestro cards can access the Cirrus network, and this is why ATMs using the Cirrus network show the Maestro logo alongside the Cirrus and MasterCard logos. Canadian and American ATMs use this network alongside their local networks, and many banks have adopted Cirrus as their international interbank network alongside either a local network, the rival VISA PLUS ATM network, or both.
In locations like India and Bangladesh, the Cirrus network also serves as a local interbank network as well as an international network.
