Citizens Action for Southern New Hampshire
Encyclopedia : C : CI : CIT : Citizens Action for Southern New Hampshire
A group of local progressive activists from the Nashua, New Hampshire area formed around the Nashua Democracy for America meetup in December 2004.
They are best known for helping keep Walmart from setting up a Superstore at the location of the Building 19 store on Nashua's Amherst Street. The organization alleges the development would pollute local wetlands and the region's watershed.
Citizens Action for Southern New Hampshire, also known as "CASNH"(pronounced "cash" or "cas-nitch"), meets on the first Thursday of each month at the Chandler Memorial Library.
Although the group's primary focus has been the Walmart struggle, CASNH also produced and distributed a guide for voters, regarding the 2005 Nashua municipal elections.
