Ciwan Haco, (1957- ), is a Turkish singer. He was born near Qamishlo in Syria. His grandfather was originally from Mardin in Turkey. After finishing high school, he left for Germany in order to continue his studies. He studied music at the University of Bochum for three years. He is now residing in Norway.
His Music
Ciwan Haco is one of the very first Turkish singers to combine Turkish folk music with western style pop music, rock, blues and jazz . He has composed more than ten albums. He has also recorded one of the novel of Mehmed Uzun named Destana Egîdekî [link]. He has also used poems by famous Turkish poets such as Cegerxwîn, Qedrîcan in his songs [link],[link]. Ciwan Haco has held concerts in many parts of Europe.
