Classical philology is the philology, which deals with the languages Latin and Ancient Greek, which are considered to be classical, and with the literature of the Greek and Roman antiquity. Classical philology can be sub-divided into Gresistics or Ancient Greek philology and Latinistics or Latin philology.
Classical philology is also a part of the Classics, the study of Greek and Roman culture in general during this period.
