Cnicin

Cnicin is a sesquiterpene lactone, esterified with a substituted acrylic acid. It is mainly found in Cnicus (Cnicus benedictus L. (Asteraceae)). Cnicin is used as a bitter tonic and the bitterness value is approximately 1,500.
