The coat of arms of Peterborough, Ontario was adopted on May 7, 1951.

The shield has various visuals to represent important elements of the regions history. Including Samuel de Champlain, green used to represent Ireland, and the immigrants brought to the region by Peter Robinson.

Peterborough's Trent University also has a college named after Samuel de Champlain.
