Cody Franson (born August 8th, 1987, in Salmon Arm, British Columbia) is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman in the Nashville Predators system. He was drafted in the 3rd round, 79th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Franson played from 2003-2006 for the Vancouver Giants of the WHL. In his final year (2005-06), the Giants were WHL champions and played for the Memorial Cup. That year, Franson had 15 goals and 40 assists in 71 games. He also scored a hat-trick in the Memorial Cup, the only one of the tournament, and led all defenceman in scoring.
In July 2006, Franson signed an entry-level contract with the Predators.[link]
