Colin Andrew Mochrie (born 30 November 1957) is a Scottish-born Canadian actor and improv comedian. He has twenty-five years of performing experience.

Born in Kilmarnock, Scotland, he moved with his family to Canada in 1964. He is an alumnus of Toronto's famous Second City comedy troupe, where he co-wrote and starred in three productions as well as directed three seasons of their National Touring Company.

After nine years as a regular on the British Channel 4 hit improvisation series Whose Line Is It Anyway?, he became a regular on the American version hosted by Drew Carey which aired on ABC. On there, his baldness became something of a running gag. At the same time, he starred in the Canadian comedy series Blackfly and Supertown Challenge.

Already one of the most highly visible actors in North American television, he joined This Hour Has 22 Minutes on CBC TV in 2001 through 2003. However, he is no longer part of the show because of his work in movies and other TV commitments. His prolific career became the subject of a joke on the Canadian sitcom Corner Gas in which a character remarked how Mochrie appeared to be on every TV show. Naturally, Mochrie himself then walked by.

Mochrie was a guest star of The Drew Carey Show for three episodes: She's Gotta Have It (1999), Drew Live (1999), and Drew Live II (2000).

Mochrie currently stars on the CBC show Getting Along Famously, and on The WB Television Network series Drew Carey's Green Screen Show.

Mochrie married Debra McGrath in 1989, and they have a son, Luke.

From 2000 to 2003 Colin and his wife voiced characters in the children's television series Seven Little Monsters.

In March 2005, a Nabisco advertising campaign starred Mochrie as the "Snack Fairy", in which he wears a tutu.

Mochrie was a guest on the series Distinguished Artists. Today, teamed up with Brad Sherwood, he tours the United States and Canada performing classic improv games from "Whose Line." He also sometimes is found touring with other Whose Line alumni in the Improv Allstar shows. Mochrie has also made two small guest appearances on The Red Green Show as "Frank Kepke," an expert on all kinds of hot dogs and wieners, and he sometimes makes regular objects out of them.

He, along with Rosie O'Donnell, also hosts a video introduction to a tour of the bakery in the Pacific Wharf area of Disney's California Adventure. He also helps explain, in the video, how sourdough bread is made.

Internet Popularity

The image of Mochrie's face is used extensively in Animutation, a style of Flash animation. Mochrie is aware of his status as an Internet celebrity among Animutation artists and fans. The "hidden directors commentary" in the second, or birthday, edition of Andrew Kepple's Animutation "French Erotic Film", Andrew relays a story he'd been told of two friends of his attending a taping of Whose Line is it Anyway?, which Mochrie performs on. One of them was wearing a T-Shirt with Kepple's rendition of Colin, and when they greeted him, Colin recognized it, saying "That's the Colin Mochrie Vs. Jesus H. Christ Trilogy!". His thoughts on it: "It's pretty cool, but you've got to admit, it's pretty weird". Colin then signed the shirt, as did the rest of the cast of the show. A picture of the signed shirt can be seen in the final frame of the aforementioned Animutation. The reason he is in (almost) every Animutation is because Neil Cicierega one way or another placed Colin in almost every Animutation he made, making the inclusion of him in Animutation somewhat of a running gag.
