Concept EP

A concept EP is similar to a concept album. In popular music, EPs are generally released to create anticipation for an album. The concept EP is based around the same premise as the concept LP; a collection of songs based around a set concept or theme as opposed to a random assortment. To ascertain the first concept EP is difficult, as EPs generally receive a far lower amount of attention and pressings than an LP does. At various times several people have claimed to create the first EP, A couple claims to the first concept EP are:

The shorter length of an EP makes it easier to create a narrative out of few songs than a full album.
