Confederation of African Football

The 53 member Confederation of African Football (CAF; French: Confédération Africaine de Football) represents international football in Africa, and organises the African Cup of Nations, CAF Confederation Cup and the African Champions League. The confederation was founded in 1957, and received a guaranteed berth in the World Cup for the first time in 1970. The CAF annually presents the African Footballer of the Year award.
CAF also organises the UEFA/CAF Meridian Cup with UEFA for youth teams.
