Københavns Amt (English: Copenhagen County) is a county (Danish, amt) on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. It covers the municipalities in the metropolitan Copenhagen area, with the exception of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg. On January 1 2007, the county will be abolished and become part of Region Hovedstaden (i.e. Copenhagen Capital Region).
