Corey Crawford (born 31 December, 1984 in Châteauguay, Quebec) is a Canadian ice hockey goalie, currently playing in the American Hockey League with the Norfolk Admirals. He was Chicago Blackhawks' 2nd round choice (52nd overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He was the second goaltender to be drafted that year after Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury.
Pre-Junior career
Crawford spent his pre-junior career playing for the Midget AAA Gatineau Entrepides.Junior career
Crawford spent his junior career with the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL. Crawford was the goaltender for the Wildcats in the 2003-04 QMJHL playoffs, when they ousted Rimouski Océanic along with Sidney Crosby in the first round. They went on to the President's Cup final, but lost the series to the Gatineau Olympiques.
Professional career
Crawford made his NHL debut with the Chicago Blackhawks on 22 January, 2006. Although he wasn't the starting goalie, he replaced Adam Munro for the game, and didn't allow any goals after that. His first starting game was against the St. Louis Blues, and finished the evening with a record of 5 GA and 29 saves. Crawford is currently playing in the American Hockey League for the Blackhawks' farm team, the Norfolk Admirals.
