Coronations

A formal state (and normally religious) ceremony at which a person is announced and installed as King or Queen. Their actual occupation of the office is normally automatic upon the dead of the previous ruler, according to the rule the King never dies, though this doctrine does not apply in all countries. Full traditional coronations are now only found in the United Kingdom, the ceremonies used in other European monarchies being much less formal swearing-in ceremonies. Some non-European monarchies, such as Tonga, preserve a form of coronation.

Handel composed his famous Zadok the Priest for the English cornonation in 1727. It is still in use.
