Correggio is a small town in the Province of Reggio Emilia, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, in the Po valley.
It is the birth place of the Renaissance painter Antonio Allegri, who was called "il Correggio" from the name of his town, and it is also the birthplace of Venetian School composer Claudio Merulo.
