Costa Hall achieved its name after a generous benefaction was made by the prominent Costa family, of Geelong, to Deakin University towards the cost of developing The Great Hall.

It is situated within Deakin University's Geelong Waterfront campus.

The 1500 seat Concert Hall of international standing has been the venue for several Symposiums, Victorian Parliaments, Graduations, Conferences, and Cultural Performances.
