Crianlarich railway station

Encyclopedia : C : CR : CRI : Crianlarich railway station

Crianlarich railway station is a railway station serving the village of Crianlarich in Scotland. It is located on the West Highland Line. The routes to Fort William/Mallaig and Oban diverge after this station. It has one island platform with tracks on either side. Access to the platform is via a flight of stairs from a subway that runs underneath the station, from the car park which is slightly lower than the station itself. It was originally called Crianlarich Upper, but was renamed Crianlarich after the other station (Crianlarich Lower) was axed during the Beeching cuts. It ran on a line from Dunblane railway station through Crianlarich and on to Oban. Services to Oban now run via a spur line from Crianlarich Upper.
