Cross-border town naming

Cross-border town naming is a concept where towns or villages are named in a similar fashion, although the two respective places are located in two different countries. Reasons for this taking place may include the follwing :
- close geographic proximity
- border changes due to war
- differenciation of two places with the same or very similar name
