Cuneiform Law

Cuneiform Law was the system of law invented by ancient Sumerians and used through-out the ancient Middle East written in cuneiform script. The Code of Hammurabi is the most familiar of the cuneiform laws, but it is believed that there are a number of precursor laws.
Cuneiform law is viewed as the legal predecessor of Biblical law and Jewish law.

- 2350 BC - Urukagina
- 2050 BC - Urnammu (Shulgi)
- 1900 BC - Lipit-Ishtar
- 1800 BC - Eshnunna
- 1750 BC - Code of Hammurabi
