Encyclopedia : C : CY : CYC : Cyclostyle (copier)
The Cyclostyle duplicating process is a form of stencil copying invented by David Gestetner in the late 1800s. A stencil is cut with the help of small toothed wheels on a special paper underlayed with carbon paper which serves as a printing form. Spirit is used as a medium to transfer the image from the carbon paper to the output paper.
