Cytoarchitectonics represents the study of the microscopic, cellular composition of structures within the body. One of the ways to parse the brain (along with gross anatomy, topography, receptor audiography, etc.), cytoarchitectonics sections the brain and stains it with an agent to reveal how the cell bodies are "stacked."
