Consolidated net sales and income were US$ 26.2 billion and US$ 1.2 billion respectively.) is a global automotive components manufacturer headquartered in the city of Kariya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Established December 16, 1949 as , DENSO is a member of the Toyota Group companies. Originally, DENSO was the electrical component manufacturing division of TOYOTA Motor Mfg., segregated during post-WWII reconstruction as the Japanese "war machine" was dismantled.
In 2004, DENSO's global sales were distributed as follows:
