The Daewoo Nexia was one of the first cars by Daewoo to be sold in Europe. First produced in 1995, the car was fitted with a 1.5 litre engine and was available as either a hatchback or a sedan. It was called the Cielo in some markets.

The car had a pretty average performance with a 0-60 time of 12.3 seconds and 75 bhp.

Daewoo used the second generation Opel Astra platform as a basis for the Daewoo Nexia. Before the Nexia/Cielo was introduced in 1995, Daewoo sold in the Australasian market the Daewoo 1.5i, which was a second generation Opel Astra with only slight changes. The Cielo was a facelift of this model.

The Nexia/Cielo ceased production in 1997, replaced by the Lanos and the Nubira.
