Dairou is a character in the Mortal Kombatfighting game series.
Making his debut in , this Seidan guard-turned-mercenary is neutral, and he fights alone. Dairou usually gets the job done as quickly as possible, but there might be some honor left in his cynical heart.
Storyline
He was once a highly respected Seidan guardsman, much like Hotaru, but he was imprisoned when he attacked and killed the man who he was led to believe murdered his family. In Konquest mode, Dairou is hired to free Shujinko from prison. In the present, he has been hired by Darrius to and steal the constitution of Seido and also given another contract to kill Hotaru. His game ending depicts him as achieving the latter of these goals, but it will not be known for certain until the upcoming , where both he and Hotaru are slated to make reappearances.....
Memorable moves
Tombstone Drop – Dairou falls flat on his back, causing his opponent to fly forward through the air allowing for a combo. (MK:D)
Stealthy Shadows – With a puff of yellow smoke, Dairou switches positions with his opponent. The opponent is momentarily confused (unless they are blocking), allowing for a free hit. (MK:D)
Iron Leg – Dairou sends a three-area energy blast that looks like a shuriken at his opponent from his leg. (MK:D)
Fatalities

Other Finishers

Trivia
Dairou was originally going to be in as a samurai hired by Shang Tsung, but was cut due to time constraints.
Dairou is unaware that Darrius, the person who hired him to do his bidding, is also the person who hired an assassin to kill his family.
Dairou is considered to be one of the cheapest people to play as due to the fact that his Tombstone Drop can be easily abused, owing to the fact that it is unblockable, as well as extremely quick, making it difficult to counter or avoid. In addition, the move launches the opponent into the air, setting them up for more attacks by Dairou.
