Dale Purinton was born on the 11th of October, 1976, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is an ice hockey player currently playing for the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Playing career
Enforcer Dale Purinton was drafted in the 5th round, 117th overall, by the New York Rangers in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. He spent the early part of his career in the WHL, ECHL, and AHL before making the NHL for one game in the 1999-00 season. In the one game he didn't get any points, but he did manage to get seven penalty minutes. The next season, 2000-01, saw him play 42 games with the Rangers. Since then, he has played in the NHL every year except the lockout cancelled season in which he played for the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL.Suspensions

- On the 4th of October the NHL handed out a 10-game suspension for an attempt to eye-gouge Colton Orr in a pre-season game.
