Dan Hennessey

Dan Hennessey is a Canadian voice actor who, early on in his career, spent time in Toronto performing with John Candy and Gilda Radner. In 1973 he was part of the comedy troupe, Zoo Factory (with John Stocker, Bruce Gordon, Harriet Cohen, and Jerelyn Homer). That same year, he played Claudius, King of Denmark in his first film, a Canadian adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet play.

A decade later, he was a frequent guest star on DiC's Inspector Gadget and starred as Dizzy in Nelvana's first feature film, Rock & Rule.

During the 1980s and 1990s, Hennessey had many voice roles to his credit, appearing on Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, My Pet Monster, Dinosaucers, the animated Police Academy series, both cartoon spinoffs of NBC's ALF, The Raccoons, The Adventures of Tintin, and Blazing Dragons.

He also appeared on other shows such as Johnny Bravo, Hammerman, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Tom and Jerry Kids, Super Mario Bros. and The Jetsons.

Dan was also a voice director for X-Men, Beetlejuice, Power Stones, , ProStars, Pelswick, Stunt Dawgs, Quads, WildCATs and Bob and Margaret.

His best-known role is the voice of Brave Heart Lion in the animated Care Bears franchise. (He also played Loyal Heart Dog on an episode of the television series).

Recently, Hennessey has appeared on Nick Jr.'s Little Bear and the public television series Redwall.
