Dana Tyler (born November 24 1958) is an anchor and reporter at WCBS-TV in New York City. She currently anchors the 6p.m. and 11p.m. news with Jim Rosenfield, and also hosts "CBS 2 at the Met," a weekly show airing from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, every Sunday morning.

Tyler began her career at WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio before moving to WCBS in 1990 as weekend anchor and reporter. She was also known to be the first African American team in the nation along with the late Reggie Harris to anchor a newscast. She quickly moved up to the weekday newscasts.

Throughout her tenure at WCBS, she has worked along the most famous and some of the most legendary faces in New York City. She was the last anchor desk partner for WCBS' legendary anchorman, Jim Jensen. She has worked alongside other New York television legends such as Ernie Anastos, John Johnson, Michelle Marsh and Ira Joe Fisher. Tyler survived the Masacre of '96, where a large number of anchors, reporters, sports and weather people were given the ax. Johnson and Marsh signed off the 5 p.m. news saying "we'll see you at 11," only to be fired after the 6 p.m. newscast. Tyler became lead female anchor.

It was announced by the [New York Daily News] and New York Post on April 6 2006 that on the 17th of the month, Tyler will return to anchor WCBS's 11p.m. newscast, in addition to her 6p.m. duties, now both alongside Jim Rosenfield, as part of a shakeup in anchors where no one is staying in their old capacity.

Tyler is the girlfriend of musician Phil Collins. The pair met when Tyler interviewed him about Tarzan opening on Broadway in May 2006. [link]
