Daphne Maxwell Reid (born July 13 1948 in New York City, New York) is an actress. She is best known for taking over the role of (Aunt) Vivian Smith-Banks on the NBC sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air from 1993 to 1996. She took over the role after Janet Hubert-Whitten left the show due to a dispute with the producers.

She is the wife of actor Tim Reid. The Reids own and operate New Millennium Studios in Petersburg, Virginia.
