Darren Jessee (born 8 April 1971, Houston, Texas) was drummer for the rock group Ben Folds Five.

He co-wrote several of Ben Folds Five songs: Song For The Dumped, Air, Bad Idea, Kate, Brick, For Those of Y'all That Wear Fanny Packs, Mitchell Lane, Satan Is My Master, The Ultimate Sacrifice, Where's Summer B.?, Your Most Valuable Possession, and the Ben Folds released song Wandering.

He is the sole writer of Leather Jacket and Magic.

He is currently a member of an increasingly popular band called Hotel Lights, where he plays guitar and piano, and sings lead vocals.

Attended East Carolina University.
