DataEase

Encyclopedia : D : DA : DAT : DataEase

DataEase (Soimetimes known as DataMaster), was one of the first relational database packages developed for MS-DOS.

The first version, DataEase 1.0, was released in 1981.

The DOS versions of DataEase were exceptionally easy to develop with. You could create interactive data entry forms and reports, and string together reports to create batch update processes. The underlying data format at that time was proprietary (not xBase compatible). The query language was also proprietary.

Subsequently DataEase for Windows (DataEase Express) was released in 1992.

DataEase is still being developed and sold by Sapphire.
