DataPower is an IBM-owned company that produces XML appliances for processing XML messages. DataPower was one of the first companies that integrated application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) designed to accelerate XSLT processing into products.
DataPower was recognized early as an innovator in XML processing. XML messaging is now considered a critical element to Service oriented architecture (SOA).

- October 2005 - Acquired by IBM
- January 2003 - First press releases to highlight security over performance
- August 26th 2002 - Delivers first network device
- July 8th 2002 - secures $9.5M in venture funding
- April 2002 - Cheng Wu join board of directors
- March 1999 - Founded in Cambridge, MA
