David Dameshek (born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania) is an American television writer and radio personality of Jewish descent from Pittsburgh, PA. Dameshek is best known as the sports reporter on the syndicated morning radio program The Adam Carolla Show.
Career
Dameshek came to Los Angeles in 1999 to work in comedy writing and radio broadcasting. For the better part of two years, he wrote for various cable television shows, including Fox Sports Net's Sports Geniuses and Comedy Central's Battlebots. His first big break, though, came in 2001, when he was hired as a writer on Comedy Central's The Man Show, where he would work for the show's third and fourth seasons.
During that time, Dameshek became the co-host of a Fox Sports Radio show with radio veteran Kent Voss. The show became a national late-night institution for the better part of four months. He also wrote and/or appeared in a handful of Jimmy Kimmel's popular segment on Fox's NFL pre-game show.
Dameshek then moved on to write for the second and third seasons of Comedy Central's Crank Yankers, as well as I'm with Busey and Trigger Happy TV. In 2002, he began writing for Jimmy Kimmel Live. Along with his main responsibility of working on the show's nightly monologue, he made a number of appearances on the show.
In 2004, Dameshek became the weekly sports correspondent on Los Angeles' FM Indy 103.1's 'Mighty Morning Show' – hosted by Dickie Barrett, while making periodic appearances on regional and national ESPN Radio programs.
Dameshek received his undergraduate degree in Broadcast Journalism from Indiana University before moving to Chicago.
His birthday is June 10, as revealed by Teresa Strasser's pointing out of the fact he shares his birthday with Tara Lipinski and Judy Garland.
