David J. Schow

David J. Schow (born 1955) is an American fiction writer. He has published a number of short story collections, novels, as well as written screenplays for films such as The Crow.
Most of Schow's work is in the horror sub-genre of splatterpunk, a term he is sometimes credited with inventing.
In the 1990's, Schow wrote a regular column for Fangoria magazine.
In 1987, Schow's story, "Pamela's Get", won a Bram Stoker Award for best long fiction.
Currently (2006), Schow has written the screenplay for the latest [[The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning|Texas Chainsaw Massacre film]].
