David Moorer West (born August 29, 1980, in Teaneck, New Jersey) is a professional basketball player in the NBA. After a four-year career at Xavier University, he was named National Player of the Year in 2003, winning both the Adolph Rupp Trophy and the Oscar Robertson Trophy. West was the 18th overall selection of the 2003 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Hornets. He has averaged 9.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game through his career with the team.

West only had five games in the 2005-06 NBA season where he scored points in single figures.

West came in second in voting for the NBA Most Improved Player Award for the 2005-06 season, behind Boris Diaw of the Phoenix Suns.
