David White (April 4, 1916 – November 27, 1990) was an American stage, film, and television actor.
Born in Denver, Colorado, he served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He began his acting career in live theatre, making his Broadway debut in 1953. Married to actress Mary Welch they had a son, Jonathan, who was born on July 14, 1955 but three years later she died during a second childbirth. Jonathan White died at the age of thirty-three, a victim of the 1988 terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.
David White was a character actor who appeared in a number of noteworthy films such as 1960's The Apartment and Sunrise at Campobello. He began working on television in 1951 and made numerous guest appearances on a number of different shows. However, he is best remembered for his recurring role as "Larry Tate" in the hit family comedy series, Bewitched that ran from 1964 to 1972.
David White died of a heart attack in North Hollywood, California, aged 74, in 1990 and was interred in the Hollywood Memorial Park Cemetery.
