Dee Jay is a character from Capcom's Street Fighter series of fighting games.
Story
Known as "The Southern Comet", Dee Jay is a cheerful kickboxer who fights to musical rhythm. Eventually, he becomes a music star, though he still has time to enter the second World Warrior tournament to find some new rhythm for his songs.Trivia
- Dee Jay is the least developed character in the Street Fighter Alpha series, and has no connection to any other character.
- He is the only character in the series to be designed by Capcom USA. He was designed by James Goddard, who modeled Dee Jay after martial arts film star Billy Blanks.
- Has a parrot named Baramacho.
- The lettering on Dee Jay's pants was originally supposed to say "MANTIS", but was changed to "MAXIMUM" when the graphic designers realized that the "N" and "S" would be reversed whenever he faced the other way.
- In the Street Fighter movie, he is portrayed by Miguel A. Núñez, Jr. In the movie, he is a member of Shadoloo. That is, until he ran away with a trunk he stole from Bison's safe. He expected to find regular money, but found loads of worthless "Bison dollars" instead.
- It has been recently revealed in the PSP version of Street Fighter Alpha 3 that he is close friends with Fei Long.
