Delina Filkins

Delina "Ecker" Filkins (May 4, 1815 - December 4, 1928) was the first verified person to reach the age of 113, in 1928. Her case was thoroughly investigated in the 1970's and re-investigated in 2005, and found to be fully verifiable. Age 113 would not verifiably be reached again until 1955. Filkin's age of 113 years 214 days would not be surpassed until 1980 (by Fannie Thomas).

Born May 4, 1815 in Herkimer County, New York, Delina was married in 1834 and died December 4, 1928 in Richland Springs, NY.
