Delta Blues Museum

The Delta Blues Museum exists to collect, preserve, and provide public access to and awareness of the blues. It is located in Clarksdale, Mississippi in a circa-1918 brick building that was previously a railroad depot. It was completely renovated in 1998. The museum has been visited by many notable artists such as Eric Clapton and Paul Simon. The museum also focuses on educating young people interested in learning to play musical instruments.

Jacqueline Nassar, a 14 year-old(2005) guitar prodigy from Clarksdale got her start there and has played in the blues clubs of Clarksdale as well as many in Memphis, Tennessee. Jacqueline and her band, July 23 have opened shows for many legendary blues artists such as B.B. King. Jacqueline also won the innaugural Robert Johnson Youth achievement award in 2004. Morgan Freeman presented Nassar with The Gibson Robert Johnson L-1 guitar.
