Deniliquin, known locally as "Deni", is a small town, population 7,786 [link] and Local Government Area in the Riverina region of New South Wales close to the border with Victoria. The surrounding area is principally involved in rice cultivation. The town itself is a significant regional hub, boasting a Coles supermarket, a KFC and a McDonald's. Other chain stores in Deniliquin include a Target Country, an IGA supermarket, Just Jeans and Harvey Norman.

Play on the Plains Festival

Denilquin is home to the Play on the Plains Festival held each September/October on the New South Wales Labor Day long weekend which includes the famous 'Deniliquin Ute Muster'.
