Detroit Rock City is a 1999 film about 4 teenagers in a KISS cover band trying to go see their idols in Detroit in 1978. It is named after the KISS song of the same name. Although the movie tanked at the box office, grossing less than $5m in the domestic box office, it has received a cult following. Despite the title, the movie was filmed in Hamilton, Ontario, with Copps Coliseum taking the place of Cobo Hall. The intersection with the Church where the boys duke it out is at Church Street in Toronto, Ontario.
