Dick John Cherry

Dick John Cherry (born February 28th, 1937) is a former ice hockey player, and brother of cultural figure Don Cherry. Cherry played junior hockey for the Barrie Flyers, then professional hockey for the Boston Bruins for the 1956-57 season. Only playing in the NHL for one season, Cherry moved back to Junior hockey, playing for the Kingston Frontenacs, scoring 60 goals in 53 games. Cherry retired to teach high-school in Kingston, 1963-1965. In the 1968-69 season, Cherry returned to the NHL to play for the Philadelphia Flyers, where he remained for 2 years.
He played 145 NHL games in total; 6 with the Boston Bruins and 139 with the Philadelphia Flyers.
