Richard L. Mountjoy is a Republican politician from Monrovia, California.
Personal Life
Dick Mountjoy was born January 13, 1932 in Los Angeles, California. He is married to Earline Winnett. He has two sons, Michael and Dennis Lee, and one daughter, Judy. He served in the U.S. Navy where he fought in the Korean War [link]. Dennis Mountjoy is currently a member of the California State Assembly [link].
Political Career
Dick Mountjoy served as the mayor of Monrovia, CA from 1968 to 1976. He served in the California State Assembly from 1978 to 1995. While there he introduced California Proposition 187, which denied government services to illegal immigrants. He served in the California State Senate from 1995 to 2000 [link].
Mountjoy is currently the Republican nominee to face Senator Dianne Feinstein for her U.S. Senate seat in the 2006 election.
