It is performed by sticking one's finger (or another object) in one's partner's rectum and then swiping a line of feces under the nose, making a poor quality "moustache" that looks Hispanic, hence "Sanchez".
The origin of the term is not known. It was seen as early as 1997 on a Harvard University student website, The page is archived here, from a different server, but in the original form and by the same author. [(caution: obscene language)] listing humorous terminology for similar acts.
The dirty Sanchez is a popular turn of phrase, appearing in a variety of pop culture references. However, it is not always clear whether this term is related to the Dirty Sanchez television series or to this practice.
- Amy Sedaris' character in the film "Strangers with Candy" includes it as an outcome she anticipates with another character, in conjunction with the act 'Rusty Trombone'.
- It is the name of the bar in the movie .
- Sanchez is the name of a dirt bike in , and . The name in conjunction with the type of bike it is could imply that the bike is a "dirty Sanchez."
