Disruptive Pattern Camouflage
Encyclopedia : D : DI : DIS : Disruptive Pattern Camouflage
Also called "Auscam" or "Ozcam", the Australian Disruptive Pattern Camouflage is a five colour camouflage pattern developed and trialled during the late 1970s and early 1980s by the Australian military. It is influenced partly by US Jungle Camouflage patterns, and was developed following aerial photography of the Australian terrain to determine which colours and patterns would be most suitable for camouflage uniforms.
The five colour pattern consists of a sand coloured background with randomly arranged spots of tan, red-brown, dark green and medium green overlaid.
Not to be confused with Disruptive Pattern Material, a British pattern of camouflage.
