Dodge Tomahawk

Encyclopedia : D : DO : DOD : Dodge Tomahawk

The Dodge Tomahawk is a concept motorcycle produced by Dodge.

At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, Dodge unveiled a motorcycle with an unusual design, featuring the 500 hp (373 kW) 8.3 L V10 engine from the Dodge Viper. The motorcycle has two front wheels and two rear wheels. This is done to aid in turning and stability. The wheels can turn at different angles, thus allowing the motorcycle to lean into turns.

Sales

In 2005, Dodge decided to sell 10 versions at $550,000 USD each through Neiman Marcus. While the Tomahawk isn't street legal, it could theoretically be ridden. The Tomahawk, as sold, is missing a few trivial parts necessary to make it a running bike. Dodge has done some minimal testing on the first bike built, and then COO Wolfgang Bernhardt drove it onto the stage at the Detroit Auto Show. The Tomahawk is officially sold as a "rolling sculpture" to show the Viper engine.
