Dorangel Vargas is the only known serial killer and cannibal in Venezuela. He was a homeless man that used to hunt bypassers at a park in the city of San Cristobal, Táchira State. Once he was caught, he confessed that he had killed and eated at least 10 men in a period of two years preceding his arrest in 1999. He declared that men's meat tastes better than women's and that he avoided eating fat people because of high cholesterol levels.
